“We’ll introduce short military training as part of NSS” – Mahama

President John Mahama has announced plans to introduce short military training for National Service Scheme (NSS) personnel. Speaking during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his second term on Thursday, February 27, he outlined the initiative’s goal of fostering fitness and discipline among young people serving the country.

“We will introduce short military training as part of our National Service Scheme. This will instill a sense of fitness and discipline in our youth,” the President said.

Additionally, President Mahama revealed that he had instructed security agencies to declare those involved in the National Service Authority (NSA) ghost names scandal as wanted. He stressed the importance of holding the perpetrators accountable, stating that the theft of state resources could not be tolerated.

“Such brazen theft of public funds must be stopped and punished,” he stated, affirming his commitment to ensuring justice.
