Sammy Gyamfi, Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), expressed optimism that the upcoming 2025 national budget, set to be presented by Finance Minister Dr. Casiel Ato will offer a roadmap to ease economic hardships and stimulate job creation for Ghanaians.

Speaking ahead of the budget presentation, Mr. Gyamfi highlighted key aspects of the budget, emphasizing that it would deliver a much-needed sense of hope to the public. “I am confident that by the time the Finance Minister concludes his speech, many Ghanaians will find renewed hope in his words. This will be a budget that speaks directly to our needs and aspirations, addressing the current hardships and providing opportunities for employment,” Mr. Gyamfi stated in an interview with TV3.

One of the standout proposals Mr.Gyamfi noted is the government’s plan to establish a Gold Board, a move that will be further clarified in the budget presentation.

In parallel, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of Government Communication, assured that the 2025 budget will reflect the concerns raised during the recent National Economic Dialogue. The budget will also address the issues voiced by traders during the Finance Minister’s recent visit to the central business district in Accra.

The 2025 budget, which will detail the government’s fiscal plans for the upcoming year, is expected to underscore the administration’s commitment to economic stabilization and sustainable growth. According to Kwakye Ofosu, the budget will outline concrete measures to meet the promises made during the government’s first 120 days, including the removal of the betting tax and the COVID-19 levy.

Additionally, the budget will provide an overview of the financial challenges inherited by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government and will present strategic initiatives designed to drive national development.

Dr. Forson, who will formally present the budget in Parliament on March 11, has reassured the public that the administration remains focused on addressing their economic needs while striving for long-term stability.
