President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan as the new Commissioner of the Customs Division at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The announcement, made on Sunday, March 23, was confirmed by a statement from Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President’s spokesperson.

Brigadier General Annan, a distinguished officer in the Ghana Army with a reputation for leadership and strategic expertise, will oversee a major overhaul of the Customs Division. His appointment comes as part of the government’s broader initiative to streamline the nation’s revenue collection system and meet its economic recovery targets.

Prior to this new role, Brig. Gen. Annan served as the Presidential Security Coordinator, where he gained invaluable experience in both security and administrative management. In his new capacity, he is expected to leverage his military discipline and administrative acumen to help the GRA achieve its financial goals.

In the same statement, President Mahama expressed his appreciation for the outgoing Commissioner, Brigadier General Ziblim Ayorrogo, for his years of dedicated service to the nation and the Customs Division.
