Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called on his players to give nothing less than 100% effort as they prepare for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar, describing the upcoming match as a “small final.”

Ghana, currently atop Group I with 12 points, will face a tough challenge from Madagascar, who are just two points behind. The pivotal match is set for Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Al Hoceima Stadium in Morocco.

In an interview with 3Sports’ Mutala Yakubu, Coach Addo acknowledged the excitement surrounding the team’s dominant 5-0 victory over Chad last Friday but quickly reminded his players that the road to qualification is far from over.

“I know everyone is excited, and we all enjoyed the win, but there is still much to do. We need everyone to be on their toes. We don’t need 98% or 99%, we need 100%,” Addo said.

He emphasized that a win against Madagascar would put Ghana in a commanding position for the 2026 World Cup qualification. “This is like a small final, and if we win this game, we will be well on course,” he added.

With only five matches played in the qualifiers, a victory for Ghana would greatly enhance their chances of securing a spot in the next World Cup.
