The Office of the President has instructed the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to launch an investigation into the official travels of former President Nana Akufo-Addo during his time in office. The move comes amid growing public scrutiny over government transparency and the use of state resources.

Sources have described the investigation as “a new low,” with some suggesting possible political motivations behind the directive. However, government officials have defended the probe, stating that it is part of broader efforts to ensure financial accountability and transparency in public spending.

Details regarding the scope of the investigation remain unclear, particularly whether it will examine all of Akufo-Addo’s official trips or focus on specific instances.
