Oscar Kojo Amonoo-Neizer appointed MD of Karpowership Ghana

Karpowership Ghana has named Ing. Oscar Kojo Amonoo-Neizer as its new Managing Director, bringing a wealth of expertise to the role with over three decades of experience in the energy sector.

Ing. Amonoo-Neizer’s career has been marked by significant leadership roles, including his tenure as Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission of Ghana, where he played a pivotal role in shaping national energy policy and regulatory frameworks. He also contributed to the development of energy efficiency standards and compliance structures, key elements in advancing the country’s electricity and natural gas sectors.

His previous position as Director of Energy at the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) saw him lead technical audits and regulatory enforcement, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of Ghana’s electricity infrastructure.

A trained Electrical Engineer from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ing. Amonoo-Neizer holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School and a Postgraduate Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Fachhochschule Aachen, Germany. He is also a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) and has participated in numerous international energy negotiations and regulatory discussions.

Commenting on his appointment, Ing. Amonoo-Neizer expressed his enthusiasm for leading Karpowership Ghana, a company renowned for its role in providing reliable power to the national grid. “I am excited to lead a company that is committed to ensuring a stable energy supply. Together with our talented team, we will continue to build on our success and contribute to the long-term growth of Ghana’s energy sector,” he said.

Under his leadership, Karpowership Ghana is poised to further solidify its position as a key player in the country’s energy landscape, with a focus on operational excellence and exploring new growth opportunities.
