Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has formally submitted her response to the petitions seeking her removal from office, meeting the deadline set by President John Dramani Mahama.

Reliable sources confirm that the Chief Justice delivered her written reply to both the President and the Council of State on April 7, 2025, in accordance with the 10-day period granted for her response.

The Council of State will now review the submission to assess whether there are sufficient grounds to proceed with further action. At this stage, the specific details of the allegations against Torkornoo, as well as the contents of her response, remain undisclosed.

This development marks a key moment in an ongoing legal process, with all eyes now on the Council of State’s next steps in what could become a significant constitutional case.
