The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has responded to claims by former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, regarding the postponement of her disciplinary committee hearing, stating that she was duly informed of the change.

Haruna Mohammed, the party’s Deputy General Secretary, addressed concerns raised by Safo, who had stated that she was not notified of the hearing’s cancellation. She had reportedly arrived at the NPP headquarters after being served a summons, only to find no committee in session.

Speaking at the NPP’s headquarters in Accra on April 7, Mr Mohammed assured the public that the party had followed established communication protocols. “Her counsel received a letter. We have had calls with her. Even I attempted to reach her directly on several occasions,” Mr. Mohammed said, adding that he personally made efforts to contact Adwoa Safo.

He further clarified that Madam Safo had been informed that the disciplinary committee would reconvene at a later date, with further details to be provided in due course.

Mr. Mohammed emphasized the party’s respect for Adwoa  Safo as a senior member and acknowledged the validity of her concerns. However, he firmly rejected the notion that she had been left uninformed. “This is the official record I am putting out,” he concluded, underscoring the NPP’s commitment to due process in handling the matter.
