The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially barred two former students from its campus, designating them persona non grata following a series of incidents that university officials say posed a threat to campus security and order.

In a statement released on April 11 by Deputy Registrar Daniel Norris Bekoe, the university named Mr. Ransford Fosu-Boateng, also known by the alias “Scammer Baby”and Mr. Raphael Appiah Owusu as the individuals involved. Both men were previously dismissed from the university: Fosu-Boateng in March 2022, and Appiah Owusu at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Despite their expulsion, the former students “persistently and unlawfully infiltrated the University’s residential halls,” the statement read, citing allegations of harassment, disruptive behavior, and actions deemed detrimental to the university’s academic environment.

KNUST cited a recent episode involving the two men in what it described as an “unlawful assembly,” which reportedly led to acts of vandalism and damage to university property. The university said the individuals were identified via its CCTV surveillance system and their involvement later verified.

Effective immediately, the university has prohibited the individuals from setting foot on campus grounds, stating that they “are to be treated as trespassers” if found anywhere within the university community.

The administration also issued a stern warning to current students, cautioning against any form of association with the former students. “Any student found aiding, abetting, or facilitating their access to university facilities will face severe disciplinary sanctions,” the statement said.

KNUST reiterated its commitment to preserving campus safety and fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence.
