The National Labour Commission has summoned leaders of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), along with the acting Registrar of the Births and Deaths Registry, in a bid to resolve an ongoing labor dispute that has led to industrial action.

The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 19, and is expected to address underlying grievances between the public sector union and the Registry. While specific details of the dispute have not been publicly disclosed, the Commission is seeking an expedited resolution.

In a directive issued Monday, the Commission ordered CLOGSAG to suspend its strike pending the outcome of the talks. The intervention highlights growing concerns over public sector disruptions, particularly in essential civil services.

The strike, which began earlier this month, has already impacted operations at the Births and Deaths Registry nationwide, raising alarms over delays in vital documentation and services.
