The Ministry of the Interior has warned applicants in the ongoing security services recruitment exercise not to send money to mobile money numbers, saying such requests are fraudulent.

In a statement, the ministry said it had not yet sent out any SMS notifications for the next stage of the process. It added that messages inviting qualified applicants for medical screening would be issued between 29 and 31 March 2026.
The nationwide medical screening exercise is expected to begin on 7 April at designated centres across the country.

Applicants have been urged to ignore and report any messages requesting payment from unknown sources. The ministry said all official communication would come from the authorised sender ID “CSERP”.
It also explained that candidates who progress to the next stage will see their status on the recruitment portal change from “Qualified” to “Medical Screening” after official notifications have been sent.
According to the ministry, any required payments will be made only through a secure web checkout system on the official recruitment portal, and not through direct transfers to individuals or mobile money accounts.

The ministry advised applicants to remain vigilant and verify all messages before taking action. It also encouraged the public to report suspected scams linked to the recruitment process via its official email address.

The warning follows concerns about an increase in recruitment-related fraud, with scammers often targeting applicants through fake messages and payment requests.
