The government says 100 new buses have arrived in the country as part of efforts to ease ongoing transport challenges.

In a post on social media, the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said the buses would help reduce pressure on commuters facing overcrowding and delays.
He explained that the vehicles form part of a wider plan to expand public transport capacity across the country.

“In the meantime, 100 29-seater buses have arrived in the country to ease recent road transport challenges,” he said.

The government has ordered a total of 300 buses, with further deliveries expected later in the year. According to the minister, an additional 100 buses are due in August, while the final batch is scheduled to arrive in November.

Officials say the phased delivery is intended to gradually improve mobility, particularly during peak travel periods when demand for transport is highest.
