Major Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Ghana have increased fuel prices, with diesel now costing more than GHȼ15 per litre. The hikes come just days after the start of the November pricing window, which opened on November 1.

Initially, the OMCs took mixed approaches, with some holding prices steady and others raising only petrol prices. However, as the pricing window progressed, leading OMCs have now increased the cost of all refined petroleum products.

State-owned Goil, which had previously priced petrol at GHȼ14.49 per litre, has now raised it to GHȼ14.64. Diesel, which was priced at GHȼ14.90 per litre during the last pricing window in October, now stands at GHȼ15.45 per litre.

Shell has also adjusted its prices, with petrol increasing from GHȼ14.58 to GHȼ14.98 per litre, while diesel has risen from GHȼ14.95 to GHȼ15.58.

These price adjustments reflect ongoing pressures on the Ghanaian cedi, which has weakened against major international currencies, and rising global prices for refined petroleum products. Both factors have led OMCs to pass increased costs onto consumers.
