In an unexpected turn of events, around 40 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have once again taken seats on the majority side of the Ghanaian Parliament, leaving the minority side of the House empty.

This marks the second time the NDC Caucus has adopted this unusual seating arrangement amid an ongoing dispute over which party commands the majority in the legislature.

Just two weeks prior, MPs from both the NDC and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) had crowded the majority side, highlighting the deepening rift and uncertainty surrounding majority control.

The NDC has insisted that their decision to occupy these seats reflects a commitment to addressing pressing national issues, contrasting with what they describe as delays and indecision by the NPP. The continued standoff adds to tensions within the House as both parties vie for influence over parliamentary proceedings.
