Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has encouraged American businesses and investors to explore opportunities in Ghana, highlighting the country’s potential for mutually beneficial economic partnerships.

Speaking at the 35th Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner and Awards Night of the American Chamber of Commerce Ghana, Kufuor emphasized Ghana’s strategic location and rich natural resources as key assets for building a sustainable economy. He urged Ghanaian businesses to focus on adding value to their exports to boost global competitiveness.

“The time has come for the United States, if it seeks to lead global progress, to consider places like Ghana. Our country is naturally positioned as a hub, sitting at the intersection of the equator and the prime meridian,” he said.

Kufuor further underscored Ghana’s connectivity, noting that it is within six hours of major destinations like New York and seven hours from the Middle East. He also pointed out Ghana’s wealth of natural and human resources, appealing to American businesses to partner with Ghana to transform it into a production hub.
