Award-winning Ghanaian musician Wendy Addo, known as Wendy Shay, is making a significant impact on the lives of less privileged children as part of the 2024 World Children’s Day celebrations. The talented artist extended her support to the Manhean M/A Basic School in the Eastern Region of Ghana through her foundation.

Wendy Shay donated a range of educational supplies, including over 100 school uniforms, 1,000 exercise books, 100 erasers, 216 pencils, 100 sharpeners, 100 rulers, and 100 pens, all aimed at enhancing teaching and learning for the students.

To improve classroom conditions, she also provided four white marker boards, two graphic boards, 30 packs of whiteboard markers, and alphabet and number charts, facilitating more interactive lessons. Additionally, she donated ten ceiling fans to create a comfortable learning environment for students and teachers.

During the donation ceremony, Wendy Shay addressed the attendees, highlighting her foundation’s commitment to addressing infrastructural needs. She announced that her foundation had funded the repair of the school’s cracked floors by supplying 26 bags of cement and a truckload of sand to enhance safety. Furthermore, she donated six plastic chairs to provide additional seating for students and staff.

Wendy Shay expressed her dedication to continuing her philanthropic efforts in Ghana, stating that this initiative is just the beginning and appealing for support to amplify her foundation’s impact.
