Armed robbers who targeted a Forex bureau in Abeka Lapaz, Accra, on Friday afternoon have reportedly vanished under mysterious circumstances.

The two suspects entered the facility, located near the Las Palmas area, and demanded cash from staff. However, bystanders outside managed to lock the entrance, trapping the robbers and employees inside.

When police arrived, they found the building secured and surrounded. Officers forced their way in, but to their surprise, the robbers were nowhere to be found.

An eyewitness told Channel One News that the suspects seemed to have “disappeared.” Police are now investigating the incident, and the building remains under tight security.

A staff member, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the bureau would issue a formal statement providing further details in due course.

In a statement, the police said they are on a manhunt for the two robbers involved.

“We would like to assure the public that we will surely get them and bring them to face justice,” the police statement added.
