Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has cleared Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng, Secretary to the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, of allegations concerning dual identities and financial improprieties.

The inquiry followed a petition filed in January 2023 by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu. Mr. Ablakwa alleged that Rev. Kusi Boateng held multiple passports under different names, including Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, and raised concerns about possible conflict of interest and irregular financial transactions.

In its report, CHRAJ found no evidence to support claims that Rev. Kusi Boateng possessed a second passport. Instead, the investigation confirmed that his passport is issued under the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

The probe also examined a transfer of GH¢2.6 million from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company linked to Rev. Kusi Boateng under his alternative identity. CHRAJ determined that the payment was not for services rendered by the company but rather a reimbursement to Rev. Kusi Boateng. He had reportedly advanced funds to contractors working on the National Cathedral project during a period of financial difficulty for the Secretariat.

The Commission concluded there was no evidence of wrongdoing in the financial transactions and dismissed the allegations against Rev. Kusi Boateng.
