Ghanaian rapper Maradona Yeboah Adjei, known professionally as Guru, has revealed his strong desire to work with the United Nations (UN), citing his passion for humanitarian work as a driving force behind this aspiration.

In a recent interview, the celebrated artist shared how his evolving career interests have led him to explore opportunities in global development. While Guru initially had no plans to enter politics, his involvement in student politics provided him with valuable insights into governance and public service.

However, Guru made it clear that his ultimate goal is not to engage in politics but to contribute to global progress through the UN. He expressed admiration for the late former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, describing Annan as a significant source of inspiration. Guru hopes to build on Annan’s legacy by making a positive impact both in Ghana and globally.

The ‘Pooley’ rapper, who currently serves as the president of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Ghana, emphasised that his passion beyond music is rooted in helping others. He believes the UN offers the ideal platform to realise his vision, with a focus on maintaining international peace, promoting cooperation among nations, and contributing to the UN’s core mandates.
