A vehicle in the convoy of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama, was attacked on the Akosombo-Accra highway on Thursday, November 29.

The driver of the affected vehicle reported that one of the police motorcyclists, believed to be part of an escort for a convoy of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, threw an object at the car, shattering its windscreen. The attack occurred between Akuse and Kpong as Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s team was returning from a two-day campaign tour in the Oti Region.

No one was injured in the incident, and the driver suspected that the convoy involved in the attack belonged to NPP supporters. The attack is currently under investigation.
