The National Service Authority (NSA) has secured a 10-day court injunction to prevent The Fourth Estate from publishing a series of investigative reports scheduled for release on December 3, 2024.

The court order, granted by the High Court just hours before the first story was set to be published, was served to the Media Foundation for West Africa, the organisation behind The Fourth Estate project. The injunction restrains the media outlet from releasing any investigative reports concerning the NSA and its staff until the authority’s side of the matter is included in the coverage.

On November 29, The Fourth Estate had announced plans to publish a series of investigations into the NSA starting this week. However, the NSA filed for the injunction on December 2, securing the court order unexpectedly and preventing the release of the reports.
