President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has highlighted significant economic growth during his tenure, claiming that Ghana’s GDP has quadrupled since he took office in 2017.

Speaking at an engagement with organised labour and professional associations in Accra on December 3, 2024, Akufo-Addo pointed to a notable 8.3% growth rate before the COVID-19 pandemic, marking a period of rapid economic expansion.

The president expressed gratitude to these groups for their support, emphasising the peaceful cooperation between government and organised labour, which he credited for Ghana’s effective management of the COVID-19 crisis. He also lauded the country’s stability amid increasing security threats in the region.
