The Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Dr. Joseph Whittal, has confirmed that 300 personnel will be deployed to polling stations across Ghana to monitor the upcoming December 7 elections.

Speaking at a media briefing in Accra on December 3, Dr. Whittal outlined that the personnel would be equipped with a checklist tool to observe and document activities at polling stations, ensuring the transparency and fairness of the electoral process.

“We are deploying 300 staff nationwide who will observe the elections, using a checklist to monitor the right to vote,” Dr. Whittal said.

He also stressed the importance of inclusivity in the electoral process, particularly in light of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, which was observed on December 3. Dr. Whittal urged election officials to prioritise persons with disabilities, ensuring they face no barriers to participation in the election.
