Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Sam George has taken a swipe at the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia after the Vice President encountered some challenges at the launch of the Digital Border Control System and e-gates at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

In a social media post, the outspoken NDC lawmaker questioned the Vice President’s haste in inaugurating the project without proper testing, suggesting it was a case of “rushing to prove a point” that ended in disaster.

“When did they carry out UAT [User Acceptance Testing] on the system after deployment?” he asked, casting doubt on the thoroughness of the rollout.

Using a popular African proverb, Mr George said “When the air blows, we all see the backside of the cockerel.”

He sarcastically suggested to the Vice President that “Please push the gate hard, it would open,” making fun of the challenges encountered by Dr. Bawumia.
