Liverpool have made a decisive move to secure the future of their defensive stalwart, Virgil van Dijk, by offering him a new contract. The Reds are eager to end any uncertainty surrounding the Dutch captain’s long-term commitment to the club.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, negotiations are ongoing, with no breakthrough yet on the value or duration of the deal.

However, Liverpool remain hopeful as talks continue with their star defender, who has been a cornerstone of the team since his arrival in 2018.

Van Dijk’s current deal runs until 2025, but Liverpool are keen to lock down their leader at the back amid growing interest from rival clubs. Fans will be watching closely as the club works to keep one of its most influential players firmly anchored at Anfield.
