Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has conceded defeat in Ghana’s 2024 general elections.
In a televised address from his residence just hours after early results began to emerge, Bawumia congratulated his opponent on their victory. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Ghanaian people for the privilege of serving as both vice president and presidential candidate.
Bawumia also called for national unity, urging Ghanaians to come together in the spirit of peace and cooperation following the electoral outcome.
