The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its supporters to cease acts of vandalism targeting state property across Ghana. Since December 8, reports have surfaced of individuals allegedly linked to the party engaging in destruction of public assets.

In a statement released on December 9, the NDC condemned the actions as “unacceptable” and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the country. The party urged its supporters to celebrate the presidential victory responsibly and promote national unity.

“The vandalism of state property, mob justice, and any form of lawless retaliation could undermine the peace and stability of our nation,” the NDC said. “Such actions are serious offences under Ghanaian law and will not be tolerated by the police.”

The NDC also appealed for calm across all 16 regions, reminding its members that the victory was a hard-fought achievement and calling on them to trust the incoming government to act within the rule of law. “Let’s celebrate responsibly and remain patient as we await the day of accountability,” the statement concluded.
