8 Arrested for Attacking Metro Mass Transit Workshop in Sunyani

The Ghana Police Service has arrested eight individuals in connection with an attack on the Metro Mass Transit workshop in Sunyani, located in the Bono Region.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Police confirmed that the arrests were made on Monday, December 9, following an unlawful entry into the workshop. The suspects are accused of threatening and assaulting workers, forcing them to vacate their offices.

The individuals arrested have been named as Issakah Taufiq, Abudu Isaiah, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Mohammed Azandoro, Alhassan Issah, Amadu Mohammed, Abdulai Adams, and Abdulai Ibrahim.

The Police Rapid Response Team acted quickly after receiving a distress call from the workshop, leading to the suspects’ swift detention. This brings the total number of individuals arrested in relation to attacks, looting, and property damage to 97.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing investigations. The Police have assured the public of their ongoing efforts, in collaboration with other security agencies, to uphold peace and security throughout the country.
