Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has condemned the actions of irate youth who gathered outside the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGCL) office in Accra on Tuesday, December 10.

Ablakwa stated that such behaviour does not reflect the values of National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader John Dramani Mahama and should not be tolerated. Speaking on TV3, he said, “If you are arrested, don’t expect any of us to defend you, because what you’ve done is not something we support.”

He added that Mahama, a “peaceful leader,” advocates for law-abiding conduct and urged supporters to celebrate responsibly without disrupting state institutions.

The youth were filmed attempting to force open the gates of the GNGCL headquarters. This incident occurred despite earlier calls from NDC National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi for moderation in celebrations following the party’s victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Gyamfi had made the appeal after reports of violence, including the tragic deaths of two NDC supporters in Akomadan. Speaking to the media in Accra on Monday, he emphasized the need for peaceful and responsible celebrations.
