SNollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has criticised producers who place undue pressure on actors to achieve one million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours of a film’s release.

Kadiri, often referred to as the ‘Queen of YouTube Nollywood’, took to Instagram to advise her fellow actors to reject such demands, emphasising that a movie’s success should not be measured solely by the number of views it garners in a short period.

In her post, she wrote: “Dear Nollywood actors, take the pressure off your shoulders! Any producer who requires one million views from you in one day has failed. A good production requires more than your face.”

She went on to clarify that one million views should not be considered the benchmark for a successful film, adding, “There’s so much you don’t know about YouTube. Don’t let their ignorance rob you of your joy.”
