Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Nana Ohene Ntow has praised Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for his exceptional security arrangements during the December 7 elections, asserting that his leadership was crucial in maintaining national stability.

Speaking on TV3 on December 14, Ohene Ntow said Ghanaians should acknowledge the IGP’s efforts, highlighting the comprehensive security plan that kept the country secure despite the challenges faced. He noted that political parties had been impressed by Dampare’s boldness and expertise in managing the security situation.

“To be frank, Ghanaians must stand up for Dampare,” he said. “His security arrangements and strategic planning saved this country. Without him and his team, we could have seen serious unrest. We witnessed how some soldiers behaved recklessly, but Dampare insisted that the military would only be deployed under his direct orders, and he remained firm in his commitment. God bless him for the work he did.”

Ohene Ntow emphasized the importance of recognising leaders who exceed expectations, urging Ghanaians to commend them, just as they criticise those who underperform.
