The office of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that he has made ministerial appointments ahead of his official swearing-in.

In a statement issued on Monday, December 16, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to Mr. Mahama, rejected the rumours, calling them “false and untrue.” She stressed that the former president has not made any such announcements and urged the public to dismiss the circulating lists of alleged appointees.

The statement came in response to a widely shared list of supposed ministerial nominees, which the office described as “entirely fabricated.”

Ms Mogtari clarified that any official announcements regarding appointments or other matters would be made through proper channels. She advised the public to rely only on communications from Mr. Mahama’s office to avoid being misled by unverified information.

“We urge everyone to disregard the fake news and refrain from spreading unverified information,” the statement read.

The office also reassured citizens of its commitment to transparency and professionalism during the transition period and encouraged the public to report any suspicious claims to the relevant authorities.
