The Transition Team of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has issued a strong warning to the outgoing government regarding alleged last-minute recruitments, payments, and promotions. In a statement released on December 17, 2024, the team expressed concern that, despite prior agreements, the outgoing NPP administration has continued to make these decisions without consulting the Joint Transition Team.

The Mahama team accused the NPP administration of acting in bad faith and failing to honour the agreed-upon transition protocols. It specifically cited instances of recruitments, transfers, and promotions—some of which are reportedly backdated—and warned that such actions will be reversed once power is formally transferred.

The statement further cautioned public officials involved in these actions, stating they would be held fully accountable. “All public officials are strongly advised to resist pressure from outgoing political figures to engage in such activities, as they could face severe consequences when the new government assumes office,” the Transition Team asserted.
