Labadi Beach Hotel has secured an interim injunction from the High Court in Accra, preventing Spartan Ives Limited, the operators of Polo Beach Club, from encroaching on its property.

The injunction, granted on December 19, 2024, follows legal action by Hotel Investments (Ghana) Limited, which owns the hotel, to reclaim a disputed 0.54-acre plot of land.

The court order prohibits Spartan Ives Limited and its affiliates from:

1. Trespassing on the hotel’s land, including its car park, pathways, and event spaces.

2. Operating Polo Beach Club or hosting events on the hotel’s property or restricted areas.

3. Using the beachfront adjacent to the hotel in violation of a lease agreement dating back to November 1990.

The injunction is effective for 10 days, with the court warning of contempt proceedings if the order is ignored.

This legal action underscores Labadi Beach Hotel’s commitment to protecting its assets amid ongoing land encroachment claims. The hotel’s management, led by David Eduaful, has submitted affidavits to assert its rights and preserve its status as one of Ghana’s top 5-star resorts.

Further developments are anticipated as the case continues.
