The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rejected the re-collated parliamentary election results declared by the Electoral Commission (EC) on Saturday, December 21, 2024, accusing the EC of manipulation and unlawful conduct.
In a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC described the results as being declared under “questionable and illegal circumstances,” accusing the EC of undermining Ghana’s democratic principles and betraying the will of the people.
The party also raised concerns over the conduct of the EC under the leadership of Jean Mensa, alleging that its actions have eroded public trust in the institution. The NDC further accused the EC of being complicit in a “manipulative alliance” involving the police and military, which it claimed was designed to skew results in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NDC also criticized the EC for disregarding a Stay of Execution order issued by the court, calling it a violation of the rule of law.
