Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adams, has presented a mini-budget of GH¢68.1 billion for the first quarter of 2025 to Parliament. The Expenditure in Advance of Appropriation is designed to cover essential government spending from January to March, ensuring continuity of operations until the new administration presents a full budget for the remainder of the year.

The mini-budget will address key areas such as salaries for public sector workers, statutory payments, critical infrastructure maintenance, and funding for social programs.

This interim budget is a constitutional requirement during a transition year, helping to prevent fiscal disruptions between administrations. Following its submission, the document was referred by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako to the Budget and Finance Committees for further review.

Parliament is scheduled to reconvene later  on January 2, 2025, when the Finance Minister will formally present the budget for debate and approval.
