In a significant gesture for Ghana’s democratic transition, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will give President-elect John Dramani Mahama a tour of the Jubilee House on Monday, January 6, 2025.

The tour, a key part of the transition process, aims to promote political stability ahead of the official handover ceremony on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Mahama, who will be accompanied by Vice President-elect Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, will also familiarise themselves with the facilities and operational environment of the presidency.

During the tour, Mahama and Opoku-Agyemang will meet with key staff, review key facilities, and receive briefings on ongoing government initiatives and policies.

This marks a pivotal moment as Ghana prepares for a peaceful leadership transition, reinforcing the country’s commitment to democratic processes. Akufo-Addo’s tenure will officially end on January 7, 2025, when Mahama will assume office in a ceremony expected to be attended by heads of state, dignitaries, and other distinguished guests.
