Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has expressed confidence that the newly appointed members of Mahama’s team are well-equipped to meet the high expectations of Ghanaians.
Speaking to Channel One TV, Mogtari, a long-time ally of Mahama, said she felt “humbled and deeply grateful” for the opportunity, highlighting the significance of the moment and the responsibility it carries. “Expectations are very high, and I am confident this team is capable of delivering on those expectations,” she stated.
Her comments followed the President-elect’s announcement of key appointments to his administration on January 7, 2025, during his swearing-in ceremony.
Among the newly appointed officials are:
Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu as Acting Spokesperson to the President
Dr. Callistus Mahama as Executive Secretary to the President
Prosper Douglas Bani as Head of the Interim Security Taskforce
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr as Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs
Augustus Goosie Tanoh as Presidential Advisor for the 24-hour economy and export development agenda
Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew Appiah-Opong as Legal Counsel to the President
Mogtari praised the appointees’ exceptional talent and experience, calling the selection “one of the best decisions ever made.” She expressed optimism that their diverse expertise would be pivotal in advancing the government’s agenda for economic growth, good governance, and national development.
