  • Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines to take charge against Peterborough in FA Cup

Everton have sacked Sean Dyche just hours before they face Peterborough in the FA Cup.

The Toffees came under new ownership in December when the Friedkin Group completed their takeover, and there has been speculation over Dyche’s future since then.

The 53-year-old’s contract would have expired at the end of the season but the decision has now been made to part ways with Dyche, with the club sitting 16th in the Premier League table and only a point clear of the relegation zone.

Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left Everton with Dyche.

Club captain Seamus Coleman and Under-18s head coach Leighton Baines will take charge on an interim basis, starting with Thursday night’s clash against Peterborough at Goodison Park.

Dyche arrived at Everton in January 2023 to replace Frank Lampard.
