President John Dramani Mahama has assured the public that his full cabinet will be announced within the next 14 days, following concerns raised over delays in ministerial appointments.
The announcement comes after Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin criticized the pace of the appointments, describing it as “tot-tot.”
Speaking at a National Muslim prayer and thanksgiving service in Accra on January 10, Mahama addressed the concerns, urging supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to avoid actions that could negatively impact the government.
“The government is being formed, ministers will be appointed, and other officials will be named,” Mahama said. “As I mentioned, we will have our full cabinet in 14 days.”
He further encouraged Ghanaians to exercise patience and engage with ministers once they are in place, stressing the importance of avoiding disorder. “We must not repeat the mistakes of the previous administration,” he added. “Let us proceed in an orderly manner.”
Mahama’s remarks come as he prepares to form his administration following his electoral victory.
