Kwame Governs Agbodza, Ghana’s Minister-Designate for Roads and Highways, has acknowledged concerns about his temperament, assuring lawmakers that he will work on improving his approach as he prepares for the role.

During his vetting before the Appointments Committee on 20 January 2025, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin raised concerns about Agbodza’s demeanor, suggesting it could affect his effectiveness if confirmed as Minister.

In response, Agbodza expressed a willingness to listen to feedback and adapt. He admitted that while he is deeply passionate about his work, he recognizes the importance of maintaining a balanced and professional tone in his interactions.

“I appreciate the feedback from my colleagues,” Agbodza said. “They raised valid concerns about my temperament. When I feel strongly about an issue, I can sometimes be too forceful in how I present it. I will make an effort to be more mindful in the future.”

Agbodza’s comments reflect his commitment to improving his communication style as he moves forward in his new role.
