Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga has been named the new Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament, succeeding Cassiel Ato Forson, who has been appointed as the Minister of Finance.

The reshuffle also sees Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi, set to take over as Majority Chief Whip, replacing Governs Agbodza, who moves to the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, the MP for Cape Coast South, is expected to become the new Deputy Majority Leader, following the appointment of Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah to the Ministry of Energy.

Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the current Second Deputy Whip, is reportedly in line for promotion to First Deputy Whip, further strengthening the leadership team.

The reshuffle is seen as part of efforts to enhance coordination within the Majority Caucus and between Parliament and the executive branch, as newly appointed ministers settle into their roles.

Further announcements regarding these leadership changes are expected in the coming days.
