GCB Bank has appointed Farihan Alhassan as its new Managing Director, following the resignation of Kofi Adomako after a “mutual and amicable agreement” with the bank, according to a statement issued by the institution.

At 44 years old, Mr. Alhassan brings two decades of banking experience to the role. Prior to joining GCB Bank, he served as Executive in Charge of Business and Commercial Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana, where he played a key role in enhancing customer engagement and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Mr. Alhassan’s banking career began at Barclays Bank (now Absa), where he became the youngest regional manager at the age of 26 and later served as Head of Retail and Distribution.

His appointment is expected to drive innovation and customer-focused strategies at GCB Bank, as the institution looks to strengthen its position in Ghana’s competitive banking sector.
