Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah Appointed Acting Executive Director of EOCO

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), effective January 27, 2025. The appointment was confirmed in an official letter from the Office of the President, signed by Secretary to the President Callistus Mahama, Ph.D.

Dapilah’s appointment aligns with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804). His new role will be in effect pending advice from EOCO’s governing board and consultation with the Public Services Commission, as required by law.

In his capacity as Acting Executive Director, Dapilah will spearhead EOCO’s efforts in combating organized crime, corruption, and financial fraud, at a time when the government is intensifying its focus on accountability and transparency within the public sector.

The Office of the President has formally congratulated Dapilah and requested his acceptance of the appointment within 14 days of receiving the official letter.
