President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Adongo Atule Jacob as Deputy Acting Chief Executive Officer (Finance and Administration) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), effective January 27, 2025.
The appointment, confirmed through a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, follows provisions in Article 195(1) of the Constitution and the Youth Employment Agency Act, 2015 (Act 887). However, it is contingent on approval from the YEA’s governing board and consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Jacob will be responsible for overseeing financial management and administrative operations at YEA, a critical role in advancing the agency’s mandate to create job opportunities for Ghana’s youth.
The formal letter of appointment included a 14-day window for Jacob to formally accept the role, with copies sent to key government officials, including the Vice President, Chief of Staff, and the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment.
Jacob’s leadership is expected to bring efficiency and direction to YEA’s operations, aligning with the government’s broader efforts to address youth unemployment.
