In a move aimed at strengthening Ghana’s financial intelligence infrastructure, President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC). The appointment comes as the Board of the FIC undergoes reconstitution.
Twum Boafo, a seasoned civil engineer and finance expert, brings years of experience to the role. He previously served as the CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority from 2009 to 2017, where he played a pivotal role in the country’s economic oversight.
With a solid academic foundation, including a BEng in Materials Engineering from the University of Wales, an MSc in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA in Finance and Investment Analysis from Stetson University, Twum Boafo is poised to enhance the country’s financial intelligence framework.
This appointment is expected to reinforce Ghana’s efforts in combating financial crimes and ensuring economic stability.
