Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), remains confident about retaining his seat in the 2024 general elections. This optimism persists despite Adenta’s reputation for voting out MPs after a single term in search of fresh representation.

Adenta has historically seen a change in MPs every election cycle, as voters frequently opt for new candidates who promise improved governance.

However, Ramadan believes his accomplishments and ongoing projects in the constituency will set him apart from this pattern. He points to his strong electoral performance in 2020, where he secured 63,436 votes (55.89%), significantly outperforming his closest competitor. This was a marked improvement from his 2016 results, where he garnered 32,588 votes (48.61%). Ramadan asserts that his work resonates with the constituents, emphasizing that they now recognize the importance of continuity in leadership rather than changing MPs every four years.

Meanwhile, his main opponent, Akosua Asaa Manu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is confident that Adenta’s history will favor her bid. If elected, she would become the constituency’s first female MP, a milestone she believes will inspire voters to support her.
