Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, remain in custody at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters. Their detention comes as investigations continue into serious allegations of financial misconduct and corruption.

In an interview with Citi Prime News, their lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, confirmed that the couple is still behind bars, maintaining their resolve as they await justice. Akyea expressed unwavering confidence in his client’s resilience, adding, “He is still behind bars at EOCO headquarters, and I know he is determined to relax until justice will set him free.”

The case has captured significant public attention, with the spotlight on allegations that Adu-Boahene, during his tenure as head of the NSB, misappropriated funds meant for critical cybersecurity infrastructure. The funds are said to have been diverted into private accounts, with his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, also implicated in the ongoing probe.

Despite the severity of the charges, Mr.Akyea has been vocal in criticizing the handling of the case, calling for a fair and transparent legal process. He stressed the importance of respecting the presumption of innocence, reiterating his commitment to ensuring his clients’ rights are upheld and that they receive a fair trial throughout the proceedings.

As the investigation progresses, all eyes remain on this high-profile case, which has raised critical questions about corruption and accountability within public offices.
