Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, the newly appointed Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, has promised to work toward realizing the government’s vision of a modern, humane correctional system.

Speaking at her swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House on Monday, Baffoe-Bonnie expressed her dedication to driving reforms that align with the administration’s goals.

“This government’s mission for a progressive and humane prison system inspires us all,” she said. “I am committed to working tirelessly to realize this vision and to lead the next phase of modernization and transformation for the Ghana Prisons Service.”

Her appointment is part of a wider restructuring effort within Ghana’s security sector, which also includes leadership changes at the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).
