The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that all ballot papers and biometric verification devices will be distributed nationwide by the end of the day.

The EC confirmed that ballot papers have already been deployed to 13 regions, with only the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions remaining to be covered.

During a meeting with the National Elections Security Taskforce, EC chairperson Jean Mensa highlighted the commission’s readiness for the upcoming polls.

“We have completed the preparation of all our registers, which have been distributed nationwide. The ballots for the presidential and parliamentary elections are also nearly ready,” Mensa stated.

She added, “All ballots have been distributed to police armouries in all regions except for Northern, Bono, and Bono East. We expect these ballots to be delivered by this afternoon.”

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, head of the National Election Security Taskforce, reiterated the commitment of security agencies to ensuring a peaceful election.

“We are fully prepared to protect all Ghanaians and stakeholders in this election to ensure a peaceful and successful outcome,” Dampare assured.
